Winter 2011 News
This year has been pretty full on with all of our clinics packed out, the launch of our new website, the team expanding and new facilities being built. With the nights now drawing in and the horses' coats getting woolly, we are preparing for the Winter months ahead and planning our 2012 clinic and horsemanship holiday dates. We will soon be announcing exciting clinic developments, both Student of the Horse clinics and guest instructors, as well as more website developments, the launch of our Student Zone and we will also be producing a magazine dedicated to you!
Top-up Training
With the economic climate showing no signs of improvement, we are constantly thinking of ways to help you keep progressing with your horses. This is where our Top-Up Training comes in.
For just £25 you will receive an hours private session with Arran in our new full sized arena and get to spectate the other private sessions too. You can work on your chosen discipline; online, liberty or ridden and the sessions are suitable for all levels of experience.
The private sessions will be held approximately every fortnight at Broad Oak stables, Bridgnorth, and have a maximum space of four participants per day. The sessions begin at 10am and finish at 2pm.

Student Achievements
Lucy and Lily
Despite the temperamental weat

her, last Friday was a fantastic day for Lily and I. Rachael gave Lily and I several hours of one-on-one tuition which is just what we needed to give us another progress boost. With her support, encouragement and various strategies for success, Lily and I had our first bridle-less ride. It was soft, the connection was there and, most importantly, we were safe because we had allowed the time to build a strong foundation.
For anyone who doesn't know Lily, or you've only seen her at Broad Oak Stables recently, this pony used to be extremely challenging, dangerous, fearful and downright unfriendly. I always had faith we would be able to progress so I stuck with her, even when it got so tough I couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel. But to have my pony want to stay with me at liberty in large fields, collect herself beautifully like the little dressage pony I've always wanted and even ride safely with just a string around her neck is something I never thought was possible with her. After all the sweat, tears and tantrums (from both of us!), completely retraining her from the ground up naturally has been the most worthwhile thing I've ever done.
As a long-time student of Student of the Horse, I can't thank Rachael and Arran enough for showing me the way and fostering our growth over the years. If Lily and I can do it, trust me, you and your horse can!
