Highlights of Charmfactory & Social Charm's 2011 (Awards, Brand Partnerships, cracking PR and Social Media campaigns), plus incredible music for 2012...

Charmfactory & Social Charm Newsletter: February 2012

Our 2012 got off to a roaring start (none of that January slacking at the Charm HQ for us!), with our campaigns for Rebecca Ferguson, Dog Is Dead, Paul Simon, Kathleen Edwards, Mark Stewart, DJ Fresh, Farrar Johnson Parker and Yames, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Jagga, Josh Kumra, The Megaphonic Thrift, Pepe Deluxe, and Saint Saviour all running from strength to strength. We have some exciting new campaigns that we're just about to launch such as Major Tom and Jack Daniel's 2012 music programme.  On the social media side, Social Charm is still going strong with Muse, Young Guns, Jagga, Josh Kumra, Taio Cruz, The Jezabels and several more exciting new campaigns about to kick off. We're itching to tell you about them, but while we're waiting for the go-ahead, here's a quick roundup of highlights from 2011...

Awards '11 Roundup

We had a great showing at the awards ceremonies in 2011: Paloma Faith and Robert Plant both picked up BRIT nominations, Everything Everything were nominated for both the Mercury Prize and Q awards, Wretch 32 had a Q shortlist and 4 MOBO noms, The Jim Jones Revue made an explosive showing at the MOJO awards for the second year running, Vintage Trouble nabbed Best New Band at the Classic Rock Awards, while Gary Numan, John Foxx and the Maths and Jim Jones Revue (again) picked up gongs at the Artrocker Awards.  And Seasick Steve's and The Pierces' albums both went Gold!

Widening the reach with Brand Partnerships

Our work on Jack Daniel's music programmes in 2011 prompted JD's Brand Manager to comment that "Charmfactory played a pivotal part of the Mr. Jack’s Birthday campaign success" and we're itching to announce 2012's events.  In the meantime, we've been working on some micro-campaigns for our artists, teaming up with brands to widen their audience and reach, including a current campaign with Rodrigo y Gabriela and Innocent Drinks, Paloma Faith and TATE Modern, The Pierces and Soap & Glory Cosmetics, Imelda May and Visit Ireland, and Nerina Pallot and Match.com. We've got several more brands 'n music micro-campaigns launching in the coming weeks, so watch this space.

Top of the Social Media trends

Social Charm had a blast working with Festival Republic on the Reading & Leeds festival.  Our fun hashtags got R&L trending at #1 in the UK and #5 worldwide during the festival weekend! Our campaign resulted in a twitter increase by 30,000, facebook by 100,000, and an active 365 community who will come back to the festival year on year.

Elsewhere, we fired up Young Guns' online fanbase via creative use of Google Earth and helped them sell out their first ever UK tour! Our Vintage Trouble TV YouTube Hub made use of existing archive footage that still keeps the fans coming back, months after the album cycle end.

Until next time...
